New Milton Citizen of the Year
The Town Council likes to thank and pay special tribute to the unsung heroes in our community – those special residents with a heart of gold, that go the extra mile to help their neighbours, sharing kindness and support.
Nominations
If you know a New Milton resident who fits that description you can nominate them for New Milton Citizen of the Year, considering the following criteria:
· Have shown service to the community
· Have shown courage in overcoming / coping with disability giving service to the community
· Demonstrated an act of bravery
· Shown a helping / caring attitude to someone disadvantaged
The open date to receive nominations will be announced early in the new year and nomination forms will be available here.
The Mayor and the Town Clerk will consider all eligible nominations and the winner will be celebrated at the Community Celebration event. Further details will be announced here.
The first worthy recipient of the title New Milton Citizen of the Year was awarded to Arthur Lloyd in 2005. Arthur had been nominated as a local historian who had researched and written many articles and publications.
