Booking an event on the Recreation Ground
This site has a Premises Licence that permits the sale of alcohol, outdoor performances and other activities – without the need for a Temporary Event Notice from New Forest District Council.
How to book an event
Step 1. Email our Amenities Committee with a date and outline of your intended event.
This will be reviewed at the next scheduled meeting.
If you receive agreement:
Step 2. Complete the application form which must be received at the Town Council offices no later than six weeks prior to the event date.
Event planning and documentation
There are a number of documents below which are to inform your event planning. The documents cover a variety of event types so some sections may not be relevant to yours.
Access keys will only become available for the event if all documentation has been received in good time.
If you wish to have a bar, we will supply the relevant log books and Challenge 25 signage.
A Hotline mobile phone is issued with the keys.
As trustee of the land and licence holder, we will have a representative spot check at each event to ensure safe and responsible management.
Depending on the nature of your event, you may also need to apply for a Street Collections Permit from NFDC by clicking here, as the site has open access for the public.
NB: If you are holding a particularly large event, it is worth consulting NFDC Safety Advisory Group (SAG). This needs a 3-month lead time.
There have been a few recent changes to the Event Application form and Operating Schedule owing to operational needs. Please ensure you use the updated links below for your event paperwork.
