Ashley Youth & Family Hub

To inspire our youth community and empower them to develop their own skills to thrive.

The Town Council are working to provide a safe and supportive environment for young people to develop their skills, interests and social connections.

We recently launched the Ashley Youth & Family Hub while working on a separate project for a new Youth & Family Centre to replace the lost Phoenix Centre on the eastern side of the Parish.

Youth services can include after-school programmes, mentoring, counselling, and community events. To help young people: build confidence, resilience, and an increased sense of belonging; to learn new skills and explore new interests; and develop positive relationships with peers and adults.

To help us deliver these services and work towards our vision, we are pleased to introduce Louise Beardmore, who has taken on the role of Youth Services Manager. Louise has a background in education and training, working in specialist and mainstream provisions and, more recently, working to support young people in care.

Such services can be especially valuable for young people who face challenges such as poverty, family conflict, or mental health issues. We understand that for some, daily challenges can impact their confidence, responses, ambitions and focus. We adopt a therapeutic, young person led approach to developing personal skills and understanding in a way that helps our young people take ownership of their own development.

With many exciting projects over the coming months and years, Louise is keen to receive input from members of the community – please feel free to complete her questionnaire.

She’d also like to encourage community to consider supporting young people.  If you would like to get involved, then please get in touch: Louise or telephone 07392 090124.
