Allotments
The Town Council has five active Allotment groups throughout the town, covering around 120 plots spread across New Milton.
Allotments were introduced into the Parish of New Milton by the Lymington Borough Council during World War Two, and subsequently became the responsibility of the present Council with the demise of the Borough Council and the introduction of the New Forest District Council during 1979.
Currently, New Milton Town Council offers a mixture of half and more recently quarter – sized plots located at 5 individual sites within the Parish, namely Upper, Middle and Lower Ashley, Becton Lane and Lymington Road. Plots are rented by residents of all ages, to grow their own vegetables, fruit and flowers. Various sizes of plots are provided at 5 sites: in Becton Lane, Lower Ashley, Lymington Road, Middle Ashley and Upper Ashley.
The Council are responsible for collecting the deposits and rents, carrying out inspections and ensuring the plots are actively cultivated and kept in reasonable order.
Please see our tenancy agreement for details of our terms and conditions for allotment tenants.
Allotment year runs from the 1st October to 30th September. Payment is due on the 30th September for the forthcoming year.
