Performance Pavilion

This dramatic and elegant performance pavilion is a stunning feature on the War Memorial Recreation Ground.

The pavilion provides a covered performance space at a raised level to the surrounding park with landscaping and paths that facilitate access and enhance this amenity. Providing a facility for performance, music, drama, dance… the raised convex curves of the pavilion create two natural focal points in opposite directions allowing directional performance either side.

The pavilion hosts bands and artists performing at the annual summer Afternoons of Music – the Town Council’s free-to-attend popular events on the recreation ground – as well as providing a performance space and focal point during other council and community organised activities, events and ceremonies.
