War Memorial Recreation Ground
A lovely green open space with children’s play area and popular skate park
This park, in the centre of town, has amenities for all ages and plenty of benches to sit and relax and watch the world go by.
The town’s War Memorial, erected in 1920, takes pride of place in the Recreation Ground and provides a focus for the town’s Remembrance ceremonies.
See the heritage board for a history of the recreation ground – or relax on one of the colourful benches especially designed to celebrate our local Paralympian gold medallist champions, or the beautiful war memorial benches.
Amenities in the Recreation Ground include:
- A play park for children
- A skate park
- An outdoor gym
- Two all-weather tennis courts
- Multi-use games area for netball, basketball etc
- Indoor and outdoor bowling greens
- Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Rose Walk
- And the Performance Pavilion.
The indoor and outdoor bowling greens each have their own pavilion and social facilities.
Public toilets, provided by New Forest District Council, adjacent Old Milton Road.
New Milton’s Town Centre shops and cafés are adjacent and the train station is just a short walk away.
